Job summary

Randstad USA in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced MIG Welding Trainer/Coach to lead and develop a welding team on site. You will bridge hands-on craft with structured mentorship, guiding entry-level welders through skill progression to reach higher competency levels while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role combines classroom and floor training with daily coaching to improve weld quality, reduce rework, and support production goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of MIG/GMAW welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial fabrication environment.
  • Proven ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other common fabrication metals.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, specifications, and inspect weld quality.
  • Demonstrated track record of coaching, training, or mentoring entry-level team members.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Instruction & Coaching: Deliver structured training, live demonstrations, and floor mentoring on MIG/GMAW techniques, setup, joint configurations, and blueprint/symbol reading.
  • Skill Assessment & Progression: Evaluate weld quality, administer practical tests, maintain skill matrices, and guide welders through career growth stages.
  • Quality & Defect Prevention: Teach welders to identify and eliminate common defects (porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, spatter) to boost first-pass yield and lower rework.
  • Safety Leadership: Model and enforce OSHA regulations, proper PPE usage, hazard identification, and safe fabrication practices.
  • Production Support: Collaborate with production and quality leads to bridge technical gaps and provide floor support during peak demands.

salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
