Job summary

Powell Electrical Manufacturing Company in Houston seeks a Welder to produce sheet metal weldments at our Southeast Houston facility. Position involves MIG welding mild and stainless steel, fitting and reading drawings.

Candidate will work from drawings, inspect welds, grind as needed, and ensure compliance with safety and ISO requirements; 1-2 years experience preferred; Mon-Thu 4:00am-2:30pm with OT as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of welding experience in metal fabrication.
• Must have a basic command of the English language (written and verbal).
• Ability to execute hot work outside of department.
• Read drawings and meet dimensional specifications; finish welds as required.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild steel and stainless steel per drawings.
• Perform basic fitting and adjust machines per manuals.
• Grind welds and buff weldments to specification.
• Read drawings, inspect parts for dimensions, and layout positions.
• Inspect welds for quality and adhere to safety procedures.
