Job summary

Powell Electrical Manufacturing Company is seeking a Welder for our Southeast Houston manufacturing facility. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:00am-2:30pm; OT as needed. The role involves producing sheet metal weldments and ensuring welds meet engineering drawings within specified tolerances.

The candidate will be able to MIG weld mild and stainless steel, perform basic fitting, read drawings, and inspect parts. A focus on quality, safety, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Ability to execute hot work (any work performed outside of department).
• Knowledge of AWS chart/steel tables.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild steel.
• MIG weld stainless steel.
• Read drawings and inspect parts for basic dimensions.
• Perform basic layouts (positioning and alignment).
• Inspect weld bead for acceptable attributes.
