Swanton Weld is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld carbon and stainless steel components, inspect finished welds, and help maintain safe, productive operations in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities include planning work, selecting tools, inspecting welds with standard equipment, and maintaining fixtures and equipment. The position requires a high school diploma and MIG welding experience, with a willingness to pass a qualification test and a team-oriented

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding experience in a manufacturing environment with MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel; at least two years preferred.
• Willingness to pass a manual welder qualification test with welds evaluated for functionality and appearance.
• Strong mechanical skills and thorough understanding of welding tools, their design, use, maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using fractions and decimals.
• History of meeting safety, quality, productivity, and attendance standards.
• Attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, and a team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Perform MIG welding on steel components according to work instructions and part specifications.
• Plan work procedures and gather tools and materials required for each job.
• Assess equipment, materials, structures, and job specs to determine welding positions and methods.
• Visually inspect welds and use quality inspection equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
• Maintain welding fixtures, tooling, and equipment in good condition.
• Follow safety procedures, verify machine and tooling safety features, and wear PPE.
• Keep workspace clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
