Job summary

JBT Marel in Ohio is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. You will perform stainless-steel fabrication and MIG/TIG welding on light-gauge components, reading drawings, weld symbols, and shop routings to produce parts that meet specifications.

This hands-on role emphasizes quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 2+ years in welding/fabrication.
• Experience MIG and TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless steel.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience producing sanitary welds preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless steel.
• Fabricate and assemble stainless-steel components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, weld symbols, and shop routings.
• Produce sanitary welds that meet USDA requirements.
• Set up and operate conventional fabrication and finishing equipment.
• Grind, blend, blast, and polish welds using hand and power tools.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move materials.
• Meet established quality, productivity, and workmanship standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operating standards.
• Participate in cross-training and support other areas of the department as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
