Job summary

Tenneco is seeking a skilled MIG Welder for our Seward, NE manufacturing team. You will set up and operate MIG welding equipment, read blueprints, and produce strong, precise welds that meet specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must pass MIG welder evaluation test within 60 days of hire.
• Welding certification (MIG) within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding to join similar or dissimilar metals, ensuring welds meet strength, dimensional, and cosmetic standards while minimizing distortion.
• Review and verify correct blueprint or work instruction for each job; identify components and weld according to specifications.
• Conduct first‑piece inspection to ensure conformance; record results on job card and perform/document hourly quality checks.
• Accurately complete and update hourly count boards to track production progress.
• Communicate production counts to supervisor at the end of each shift and properly tag/identify completed product containers.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, adjusting voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow to suit job requirements.
• Use appropriate hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and clamps to hold workpieces securely during welding.
• Maintain work area in compliance with 5S standards and follow all EHS policies and procedures.
