Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Welder to support our Brookhaven, MS manufacturing operation. This role focuses on MIG welding in a fast-paced setting, with emphasis on layout, tack welding, and bead inspection to meet specifications.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints and measuring tools, perform overhead welds, and maintain safety standards while lifting up to 90 lbs as needed. Training and entry-level experience are considered, with a strong team orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–6 months of related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions & decimals.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures and clamp as per layout marks.
• Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Connect regulator valves for cutting torch and adjust gas flow.
• Examine weld bead size and other specifications; scar and grind as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness; comply with EH&S requirements.
