Job summary

Wastequip's Brookhaven, MS metal fabrication operation seeks a MIG Welder to support daily production. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing experience and can weld in multiple positions while reading blueprints and following safety procedures.

The role requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 90 lbs. Training and benefits accompany a competitive pay rate in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, memos or notes.
• Understands basic math and uses tape measures with fractions/decimals.
• Able to read blueprints and measuring tapes.
• Passes all EHS tests and clearances.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures and clamp as needed.
• Lay out, position and tack weld work pieces.
• Welds in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Connects regulators and adjusts gas flow for cutting torches.
• Inspect welds for bead size and specifications.
• Grind or chip off excess welds, slag or splatter.
• Follow safety rules and stand for long periods; lift up to 90 lbs.
