Job summary

Wastequip is hiring a Welder 1 in Winamac, IN for a full-time role on a production line. You will perform MIG welding on refuse truck assemblies, align parts in jigs, and verify weld quality on vertical, horizontal, and overhead sections.

The ideal candidate has MIG welding experience in manufacturing, can read blueprints and measurements, and works safely in a fast-paced environment with regular lifts up to 50 lbs and occasional 90 lbs.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills are required.
• Willingness to work in a production line environment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor and clamp as needed.
• Weld on refuse truck assemblies along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces; inspect bead size and quality.
• Prepare welds by scarfs or grooves and remove slag or splatter; grind as required.
• Move and lift parts up to 50 lbs regularly and 90 lbs occasionally.
