Job summary

Premier Pump & Power, a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions, seeks a detail-oriented Welder I to MIG-weld and assemble pump packages at our Vancouver, WA facility. The role reports to the Production Manager and is full-time on-site.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of welding experience, strong MIG welding skills, and the ability to read technical drawings. AWS certification can substitute for one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Age minimum: 18 years.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong MIG welding (GMAW) proficiency required.
• 2+ years welding experience; AWS certification can substitute for 1 year.
• Familiarity with TIG or MMA (Stick) a plus but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tape measures.
• Knowledge of PPE and safety standards; PPE required.
• Retirement Plan (401k) with company matches up to 4% of employee contributions.
• Vacation up to 40 hours per year (years 1-3, pro-rated in year 1).
• 8 paid holidays per calendar year.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on small parts, crossmembers, and plate steel.
• Read and understand weld prints and technical drawings.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps for accuracy.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.
• Operate fabrication equipment: Band saw, Drill Press, Pallet Jack, Hand Truck.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation following 5S principles.
