Job summary

U-Haul Co. of South Carolina is seeking a MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team in Glendale, AZ. The successful candidate will weld trucks, trailers and support equipment using MIG techniques and follow blueprints and work orders.

Responsibilities include setting up welds, inspecting assemblies, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the shop floor. A plant-administered welding test and reliable attendance are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Successfully complete a plant-administered welding test.
• Regular attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs all-position MIG welding to join steel and aluminum from 1/16" to 1" thick plate.
• Interprets and carries out work orders, blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Clamp parts into jigs or holding fixtures.
• Cleans burrs, spatter and weld flux from assemblies.
• Hand-count material for inventory purposes.
• Wears and maintains protective clothing and equipment including helmet, gloves, clothing, safety glasses and steel-toe shoes.
• Follows all safety practices and keeps work areas clean and orderly.
