Job summary

CTR Cryo is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our cryogenic manufacturing team in Texas. The role focuses on high-precision welding of stainless steel and aluminum for cryogenic systems, ensuring leak-proof seals and structural integrity.

You will read complex drawings, set up MIG equipment, and inspect welds to meet strict cryogenic standards while adhering to safety procedures and PPE requirements. Prior welding experience is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of welding experience.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 18+ years old and reliable.

Responsibilities

• MIG (GMAW) welding on thin-gauge materials and intricate assemblies.
• Read and interpret welding drawings and WPS to ensure cryogenic standards.
• Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment and related tools.
• Inspect welds for strength and leak-proof integrity per AWS standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE protocols.

Job Summary

A MIG Welder in a cryogenic manufacturing company is responsible for the high-precision joining of metals, such as stainless steel and aluminum, that must withstand extremely low-temperature environments. Unlike general welding, this role emphasizes structural integrity and leak-proof seals for components used in high-vacuum or liquid gas systems

Job Description

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on specialized alloys, often focusing on thin-gauge materials and intricate assemblies.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and welding procedure specifications (WPS) to ensure every joint meets strict cryogenic standards.
• Clean, cut, fit, and assemble metal components for welding.
• Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding machines, torches, and related tools.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and aesthetic quality, ensuring compliance with standards (e.g., AWS).

Adhere to all safety procedures, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean work area.

Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Some lifting is required up to 50 lbs.
• TIG Welder with 1 to 5 years of experience
• Mechanical experience is a plus
• The ability to read technical drawings and blueprints is a plus
• Must be a reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Welder
