Job summary

Std Iron is seeking a MIG Welder to join the Weld team in Wisconsin. You will weld mild steel from 20 gauge to 1 inch, fabricate hydraulic and fuel tanks, and read blueprints and weld symbols to ensure proper fit-up.

Ideal candidates have MIG welding experience, AWS awareness, and the ability to set up welding operations. Wages up to $30+ per hour with strong benefits and a trainer to help you advance.

Job Description: MIG Welder (All Welders encouraged to apply)

Amazing shifts and wages Up to $30+/ hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform MIG welding on mild steel materials ranging from 20 gauge to 1-inch thickness.

• Ability to Fabricate hydraulic tanks, fuel tanks, fenders, platforms, and other sheet metal assemblies in accordance with prescribed procedures and quality standards.

• Demonstrate proficiency in all welding positions using established welding fundamentals.

• Obtain and maintain AWS D1.1 GMAW and AWS D1.3 GMAW qualifications within the designated training period. We have aa great trainer to help you here!

• Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and work orders to ensure proper fit-up and accuracy. (We have a way to help with this as well)

• Perform set-ups for welding operations and select appropriate metal finishing tools such as grinders and abrasives to achieve required finishes.

• Safely operate lifting and control devices (cranes, positioners, magnets, hooks, fixtures, templates, etc.) to move and position materials as needed.
  Participation in all the fun Company contests, events, and awards is not necessary, but definitely encouraged. Examples of contests: Weld Sculpturing, Creative design, Art contests, ChiliCook-offs, Ugly sweaters, Parades, and much more.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform additional work-related activities as required to support production operations.

• Participate in efforts to organize, control, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Obtain welding qualification with a minimum score of 75% on the welding assessment. Hosted by Employer.

• Have experience in Mig welding operations. Tig is a bonus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Previous welding experience preferred.

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
