Standard Iron & Metal Co. in Hartford, WI is seeking a MIG Welder to join our team. You will weld mild steel from thin gauge to heavy plate, fabricate tanks and custom sheet metal parts, and setup equipment while reading blueprints and weld symbols.

Qualified candidates will have prior welding experience in all positions and complete an on-boarding welding assessment within the first week. A high school diploma or GED is required, with potential for bonus pay and shift premiums based on

• Experience in welding is preferred and must command all welding positions.
• Must pass welding assessment and general shop assessment within first week.

Responsabilités

• MIG weld on mild steel from 20-gauge to 1-inch plate.
• Fabricate hydraulic tanks, fuel tanks, fenders, platforms, and custom sheet metal designs.
• Set up and finish tasks: read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, machine setups, and finish work with grinders.
• Handle materials using cranes, positioners, magnets, hooks, and fixtures.

MIG Welder – Standard Iron (Hartford, WI)

Reporting To:Operations Manager

• Location: Hartford, WI (1055 W Sumner St or 1720 Innovation Way)
• Hiring Bonuses for this role.
• Pay Range: $21.00 - $31.00+ / hr. (Based on experience) + Shift Premiums up to $5

What You'll Do

• MIG Weld: Work on mild steel ranging from thin 20-gauge up to heavy 1-inch plate.
• Fabricate: Build hydraulic tanks, fuel tanks, fenders, platforms, and custom sheet metal designs.
• Setup & Finish: Read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, perform machine setups, and use grinders/abrasives for clean finishes.
• Handle Materials: Safely operate cranes, positioners, magnets, hooks, and fixtures.

What You Need

• Experience: Previous welding experience is preferred, with a strong command of all welding positions.
• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• First-Week Milestones: You must pass our welding assessment (75%+) and general shop assessment (100%) within your first week of placement. Dont worry too much, We have great Trainers to assist.
• Certifications: Willingness to achieve D1.1 GMAW and D1.3 GMAW qualifications during your training period.
