Job summary

ExacTech North in Crystal Falls, MI is seeking a MIG Welder to join our turnkey heavy fabrication team. You will weld and fabricate steel parts using metal-cored and flux-cored wires, reading blueprints to determine weld requirements and ensuring high quality along the way.

You will operate grinders and cranes, comply with ISO and OSHA standards, and participate in our 4-day work week on the 1st shift (5:00am–3:30pm). Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• MIG welding with metal-cored & flux-cored wires.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings to determine weld requirements.
• Understand pre-heat and post-heat weldments.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding with metal-cored wires & flux-cored wires to assemble large steel pieces together.
• Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• Use disc grinders to smooth out parts to ensure no defects.
• Use overhead and jib cranes to place components for welding.
• Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to responsibilities.

ExacTech North is an indoor metal fabrication shop with a global customer base in large industries including maritime, construction, mining, energy and more. ExacTech is the primary supplier for Marine Travelift and Shuttlelift crane structures, providing steady, indoor work throughout the year.

ExacTech North in Crystal Falls, MI is looking to add 1 st shift MIG welders to our brand new team. As part of a turnkey heavy fabrication team, our welders are responsible for welding and fabricating various steel parts. We are proud to offer in-house job training for all our team members.

1 st Shift; Monday-Thursday; 5:00am - 3:30pm

As a MIG Welder, you will…

• Perform MIG welding with Metal-cored wires & flux-cored wires to assemble large steel pieces together
• Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements
• Use disc grinders to smooth out parts to ensure there are no defects prior to and after welding
• Use overhead cranes and jib cranes to place components in position for welding
• Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above
• Complete all other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

We are looking for you to…

• Have a Technical diploma in welding
• Understand pre-heat and post-heat weldments
• Be able to read Blueprints and drawings
• Be able to use a tape measurer and convert measurements into decimals
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
