Job summary

Multimatic in Indiana is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to repair metal components and ensure compliance with customer specifications. You will use fixtures and gauging tools, and document all production data with bar-code systems.

Applicants should have MIG welding experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. AWS certification is a plus; overtime and shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience with MIG Welding is required.
• Two years related experience in automotive/manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• AWS Certification is a plus; not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform Weld Repair on metal components using MIG methods.
• Use fixtures and measuring/gauging equipment to test compliance with customer requirements.
• Count and label finished components and record production information.
• Enter data into inventory system using bar coding scanners.
• Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervision.
• Check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools or visual inspection aids as instructed.
• Maintain adherence to Control Plans and safety specifications.
• Keep work area and machines clean and safe.
• Identify quality, productivity or safety issues and report them.
• Perform minor maintenance such as tip/tool changes and equipment setup.
• Conduct finished goods inspections per control plan and operator instructions.
