Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Certified Welder for a short call to support manufacturing operations with high-quality welding work. You will read drawings, operate MIG/TIG equipment, and inspect welds to ensure conformity with specifications, while maintaining safety and accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes hands-on welding, adherence to procedures, and continuous improvement within a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• Alloy and steel welding experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of MIG and TIG welding experience.
• Standard blueprint knowledge and the ability to read production drawings, blueprints, work orders, and written instructions.
• Strong knowledge of metalworking machinery and the use of various hand tools and equipment used to manufacture metal.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and all safety policies and protocols.
• Quality orientation, time management, problem solving, accountability, dependability, decision making, and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, production drawings, and work orders.
• Operate the Miller Aluma Pro Mig gun and manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using GMAW, TIG, and plasma cutter processes.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and perform oxy acetylene cutting when needed.
• Fabricate metal components using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery.
• Maintain safe work practices and follow established SOPs.
• Conduct technical inspections to confirm quality and compliance with drawing and specification requirements.
• Prepare input for management and log reports.
• Review blueprints and specifications to ensure parts and assemblies will function as intended.
