Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder for a Bloomington, MN, 1st shift role. The position involves building refrigeration units, equipment housings, frames, and custom metal assemblies from blueprints, with a focus on stainless steel and aluminum welds.

This 90-day contract-to-hire union opportunity offers on-site work, day shifts, and potential overtime. You will join a team dedicated to quality, safety, and long-term opportunities in a clean manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience on aluminum and stainless steel.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld drawings independently.
• Experience fabricating and welding large frames, casings, enclosures, or similar industrial products.
• Strong fabrication, fit-up, and measuring skills.
• Welding schooling or certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel.
• Weld refrigeration casings, equipment enclosures, frames, brackets, and sheet metal assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Layout, fit-up, tack, and weld components to specification.
• Assemble large mechanical frames and housings prior to welding.
• Inspect welds for quality, appearance, and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate grinders, saws, drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to complete custom builds.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.

MIG/TIG Welder - $34/Hour

Join a leading manufacturing team building refrigeration units, equipment housings, structural frames, and custom metal assemblies. We're looking for experienced MIG/TIG Welders who can work from blueprints and produce high-quality welds on stainless steel and aluminum components used in commercial cooling and transportation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel

• Weld refrigeration casings, equipment enclosures, structural frames, brackets, supports, and sheet metal assemblies

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings

• Layout, fit-up, tack, and weld components to specification

• Assemble large mechanical frames and housings prior to welding

• Inspect welds for quality, appearance, and dimensional accuracy

Qualifications

• Experience welding both aluminum and stainless steel

• Experience building frames, enclosures, casings, cabinets, refrigeration equipment, trailers, truck bodies, or similar fabricated products

• Strong fabrication, fit-up, and measuring skills

• Experience using tape measures, squares, levels, and layout tools

• Ability to hold tight tolerances and produce clean cosmetic welds

• Welding school or certification preferred but not required

Must have hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience on aluminum and stainless steel, be comfortable reading blueprints, and have experience fabricating and welding large frames, casings, enclosures, or similar industrial products.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomington, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $55000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

They offer great benefits-Medical-Dental-Vison-Pension offer - $2.05/hr. and fantastic benefits. The pension is vested once you work there for 5 years.-2 raises every year. One annually and one every August-The raises are anywhere from $.40 - $.60. They are having a union negotiation later this year to hopefully increase the raises.-They are offering up to 10 hours of OT during the Mon-Fri Week. At times they are offer OT on Saturday and Sunday. Double time pay if you work on Sunday.
