Job summary

Kobeal in Bowling Green, KY seeks an experienced welder to fabricate new production items for the Forging and EP departments using MIG welding. The role includes repairing production items and reading blueprints to build and inspect components.

Candidates should have an associate degree in welding or related field, 3–5 years welding experience, and the ability to work in hot, noisy environments. Monday–Friday workweek with safety-focused operations is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in welding or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in metals manufacturing/fabrication environment.
• 3–5 years experience in welding or related field.
• Previous welding experience (operation/programming).

Responsibilities

• Verify integrity of data through the confirmation of sign offs on process documentation.
• Maintain sanctity of the workspace through the enforcement of 5s principles.
• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
• Cut, shape, and trim material to specified lengths or shapes utilizing grinders, iron worker, and other various hand tools.
• Read blueprints to build various items.
• Inspect all items for various defects.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs.
• Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the welding process.
• Perform other duties as needed.
