Job summary

Citizen Canine INC in Chicago, IL seeks a passionate Dog Hotel Team Member to care for canine guests and support daily operations. You will supervise dogs, assist with check-ins/outs, and provide updates to owners, ensuring a safe, home-like environment.

Ideal candidates love dogs, stay active through shifts, and communicate clearly with owners and staff. Weekend and holiday availability is a plus, with opportunities for growth within the team.

Qualifications

• Genuine love for dogs and passion for pet care.
• Ability to stand, walk and stay active throughout shifts.
• Strong observational skills to read dog body language.
• Reliable and punctual with weekend/holiday availability.
• Excellent communication with pet owners and team.
• Prior pet-care, dog daycare, kennel or veterinary exposure is a plus.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle high-energy situations.
• Bathing dogs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor dogs during play groups and rest periods.
• Feed, water, and administer medications per owner instructions.
• Maintain clean and sanitary environments with regular cleaning.
• Assess dog behavior to ensure safe group interactions.
• Communicate updates and daily reports to pet owners.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and verify vaccination records.
• Identify illness, injury, or behavior concerns for management.
