Job summary

Destination Pet, LLC in Chicago is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to keep kennels spotless, feed and water pets, and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the shift. The role requires a willingness to get hands dirty, physical stamina to lift up to 40 lbs, and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Prior kennel experience is a plus; training is provided and weekend/evening hours may apply. You will report to the General Manager and join a team that keeps pets happy and human teammates at ease

Qualifications

• A borderline-obsessive love for animals.
• A cool, calm, and professional demeanor—even when a Great Dane steals your mop.
• A willingness to get your hands dirty (literally).
• Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keeping pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serving meals and fresh water to pets.
• Monitoring health, happiness, and any unusual conditions.
• Reporting anything unusual to the General or Assistant Manager.
• Supervising playtime and assisting with brushing and bath time.
