Job summary

Southern Regional Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Women’s Health and Labor & Delivery team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This role offers schedule flexibility and the chance to provide evidence-based obstetrical and gynecologic care within a collaborative hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery, AMCB certification, an active RN and APRN license, and BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery.
• Active RN license.
• APRN license (state applicable).
• AMCB certification.
• DEA registration (if required).
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Minimum one year CNM experience preferred; exceptional new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care.
• Independently manage low-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
• Conduct routine gynecologic examinations and women’s health visits.
• Perform labor management, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, and postpartum care.
• Identify high-risk pregnancies and collaborate with OB/GYN physicians for consultation or transfer of care.
• Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, contraception, and preventive health.
• Accurately document all patient encounters within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Provide on‑call coverage as scheduled.
