Job summary

Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell, GA seeks a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join its multidisciplinary team. You will provide comprehensive obstetric care from prenatal through labor and delivery, using assessment, diagnosis, management and evaluation to support women’s physical and psychosocial needs.

The role requires current GA RN license, CNM or LM licensure, Masters in Nurse Midwifery, and credentialing within 6 months; BLS/NRP; and obstetric credentialing for first assist on cesarean

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license and CNM/LM licensure required.
• Masters in Nurse Midwifery or accredited nursing program.
• BLS and NRP certification; EFM within first year.
• Credentialing with Medical Staff as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric care from prenatal to labor and delivery.
• Perform history and physical exams and interpret fetal monitoring.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses and staff.
• First assist with cesarean sections and maintain obstetric credentials.

TheCertified Nurse Midwife (CNM) functions within the organized healthcare systemas defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives core competencies of BasicMidwifery Practice and the Standards for the Practice of Nurse Midwifery. TheCNM collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to providecomprehensive care to the pregnant and laboring woman. The CNM uses theprocesses of assessment, diagnosis, management and evaluation to provide carethat integrates the psychosocial and physical needs of women. The CNM obtainshistory and performs physical examination to evaluate and coordinate patient careat Nile Women’s Health Care, in addition, to providing care in labor anddelivery. Along with physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcareteam, the CNM strives to ensure the provision of quality patient care leadingto optimal outcomes. The CNM works in collaboration with all Clinical Staff,attending physicians, Nile Women’s Health Care and Practice Manager.

EDUCATION

• Possess a licenseto practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia
• Current licensureas a Certified Nurse Midwife or Licensed Midwife required
• Graduate of anaccredited Nursing program or Masters in Nurse Midwifery program required.
• Meetscredentialing requirements as appropriate through the Medical Staff office required
• BLS certifiedrequire
• NRP certified
• Electronic FetalMonitoring Certification required within first year of hire. To be monitored byDepartment for compliance.

EXPERIENCE

• Nurse Midwifeexperience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Varied types ofpregnant patients including active labor patients both high risk and low risk,outpatients presenting with various complaints both emergent and non-emergent.
• Normal heat,light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs.
• Occasionalexposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions.
