Job summary

Knobelsdorff is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to install and oversee photovoltaic systems across the Midwest. You will follow drawings and codes, mentor apprentices, and keep safety and production goals on track to deliver high-quality work.

Requires a valid journeyman license or 8,000 electrical hours, 5+ years in solar or electrical construction, travel across the Midwest, and the ability to pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Journeyman license or 8,000 electrical hours required.
• 5+ years in solar or electrical construction.
• Familiar with PV systems and DC/AC configurations.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and specifications.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Willingness to travel across the Midwest.
• Valid driver's license with safe driving history.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Install photovoltaic (solar) electrical systems according to drawings and specifications
• Apply knowledge of current electrical codes and best practices on the job
• Complete material takeoffs and support tool/equipment procurement
• Mentor and support apprentices and crew members in the field
• Conduct or assist in AC and DC terminations and wire management
• Interpret construction documents, wire schedules, and BOMs
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and field records
• Collaborate with foremen and PMs to meet safety and production goals
• Communicate effectively with crew, customers, and leadership
• Contribute to a productive, respectful job site culture
