Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Midwest Area Drinking Water Practice Leader to drive growth and lead major projects in the region. The role focuses on delivering exceptional client service, mentorship, and strategic direction for the drinking water practice.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in environmental engineering, PE licensure, and strong communication. Travel up to 30% is expected as part of leading a portfolio across multiple locations within the Midwest.

Qualifications

  • Typically a minimum of 15 years of related work experience in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering or a related field is required.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer is required.
  • Outstanding communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to guide technical strategy for a large portfolio of projects and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership on complex environmental engineering projects.
  • Develop and approve advanced engineering analyses, designs, and strategic recommendations.
  • Influence technical approaches, standards, and methodologies across projects.
  • Lead development of complex, multi-disciplinary environmental management and infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance during regulatory negotiations, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced team members to grow within their roles.
