Job summary

Energy Foundation, based in Chicago, seeks a seasoned Program Director, Midwest Campaigns, to lead the region’s clean energy and climate policy campaigns. You will design multi-year strategies and coordinate cross-office efforts to build diverse coalitions and public support across power, buildings, transportation, and climate sectors.

The role requires senior-level experience, strong fundraising ability, and excellent communication with policymakers, grantees, and partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience managing issue campaigns and advocacy efforts.
• Experience working with policymakers and legislative bodies is essential.
• Familiarity with clean energy and climate policy at the state level.
• Credibility to engage funders, grantees, and stakeholders.
• Strong writing and speaking skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee multi-year campaign strategies for the Midwest region.
• Manage investments and funding allocations to build public and policymaker support for energy policies.
• Lead and oversee grantmaking aligned with regional objectives.
• Collaborate with communications and policy teams to design integrated program strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with grantees, policymakers, and funding partners.
• Produce high-quality materials for board and funder audiences.
• Oversee state-based campaign consultants across priority states.
