Job summary

Ascension St. Joseph - Chicago is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to handle specimen processing, perform waived to high-complexity tests, and report results according to established procedures.

The role requires quality control participation and adherence to CLIA, CAP, JCAHO guidance, with occasional specimen collection. Night shift with rotating hours and weekend/holiday rotation is included.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university or Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.

Responsibilities

• Handle specimen processing and perform tests from waived to high complexity as authorized by the Director.
• Report results according to established procedures and participate in quality control procedures.
• Comply with quality assurance standards and applicable agencies (JCAHO, CAP, CLIA).
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.
