Job summary

Ascension St. Joseph - Chicago is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting results.

The role includes participation in quality control and adherence to QA/QM standards, with potential specimen collection as needed. Required qualifications include MLT or MT credentials (or a bachelor’s in related sciences) and at least 1 year of clinical lab experience or training.

Qualifications

• MLT with an associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• MT with a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting results per established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards; may perform specimen collection as needed.

Education

MLT – Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.

MT – Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
