Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a skilled equipment/mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on motorized and related equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on vehicles and construction gear.

Shift is 3:30 p.m.–12:00 a.m. with a $1.75 shift premium. Requires a high school diploma plus an apprenticeship and a valid driver’s license; union benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED plus apprenticeship in motor and equipment mechanics.
• Experience as an equipment or automotive mechanic required.
• Welding and small engine knowledge beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair motorized and related equipment.
• Diagnose and replace mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Perform skilled repair work on automobiles, trucks, street cleaning, and construction equipment.
