Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP, a leading international law firm, seeks mid-level associates for its Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice. You will work at the intersection of digital infrastructure and energy transition, handling power transactions, market design discussions, and FERC regulatory matters from a Houston office.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years in energy law, with both regulatory and transactional exposure, and a JD from an accredited law school.

Qualifikationen

• 3–6 years of experience in energy law, preferably with a mix of regulatory and transactional experience.
• Familiarity with the Federal Power Act, power market mechanics, and power transaction structures.
• Demonstrated ability to draft bespoke energy contracts.

Aufgaben

• Power Transactions: negotiate PPA and energy service agreements for developers, utilities and buyers.
• Market Design & RTO/ISOs: advise on electric market design issues in PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO.
• FERC regulatory: handle proceedings before FERC and advise on compliance for market-based rate programs and related areas.
• Federal energy policy: counsel on energy policy, renewable integration, and carbon-free procurement strategies.
