Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. seeks a senior Enterprise Middleware Architect to lead planning, delivery, and operation of middleware platforms (MuleSoft, WebLogic, message brokers).

Shape strategy, mentor engineers across time zones, and partner with application teams on strategic initiatives. This role requires 5+ years of hands-on middleware leadership, strong architecture skills, and exceptional communication to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of IT experience with 5+ years leading middleware teams.
• 5+ years hands-on with major middleware platforms, API deployment, and middleware platform engineering and maintenance.
• Proven project management experience for complex integration initiatives.
• Distributed teams across multiple time zones experience.
• Navigate critical situations, negotiate solutions, resolve conflicts effectively.
• Deep understanding of OO principles, middleware technologies, integration patterns, and trends.
• Experience with message brokers and application servers such as WebLogic, Apache.
• Oversee internal developers, analysts, consultants, and external vendors.
• Excellent communication; strong writing skills for senior leaders (PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop a high performing team; coach and develop to maximize performance.
• Plan, manage, and support the enterprise middleware technologies (MuleSoft, ETL, MFT, message brokers).
• Lead and develop a team to deliver large and complex integration projects.
• Provide L3 escalation support for production systems and ensure testing/documentation/change management.
• Drive architecture and design improvements for integration processes and tools.
• Partner with application leads on major initiatives; perform technical analysis, design reviews.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and data integrity; present updates to leadership.
