Position: Middleware Lead / Architect / Senior Administrator

Job location: Alpharetta, Georgia or Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid 3 days onsite)

Employment type: Contract

Job Description
  • Lead the administration and support of enterprise-grade middleware platforms (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat).
  • Manage deployments, clustering, scaling, and performance optimization of application servers.
  • Automate middleware and system administration tasks using PowerShell and Unix shell scripting.
  • Ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of mission-critical applications hosted on middleware platforms.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening across servers and middleware.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for application deployments and environment setup.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve middleware issues with minimal downtime.
  • Participate in capacity planning, monitoring, and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Change, incident, and Problem Management).
  • Strong expertise in WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat.
  • Advanced skills in PowerShell and Unix shell scripting.
  • Deep understanding of Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in production-critical environment.
  • Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for middleware hosting.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab) for automation.
  • Primary Skills 1 Required: Experienced & Practitioner with Basic knowledge with demonstrated hands‑on experience. Requires no/minimal supervision in Middleware, Using for Software Development Application Servers
