Job summary

Padmore Global Connections LLC is seeking a Senior Middleware Administrator to support the Metro Atlanta middleware stack. Hybrid work and contract engagement. You will design, deploy, and secure middleware components while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires deep expertise in WebSphere/WebLogic, Tomcat and IIS, plus strong scripting and CI/CD capabilities to automate deployments and patching. Local candidates in the Atlanta area are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting production middleware environments (IBM WebSphere, WebLogic, IIS).
• 2+ years with Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Oracle WebLogic.
• 3+ years installing and maintaining software on Windows and Linux/Unix.
• 2+ years of Jenkins pipelines (declarative).

Responsibilities

• Perform admin duties for WebSphere/WebLogic/Tomcat/IIS; create scripts to automate tasks.
• Build/deploy and maintain middleware environments and servers.
• Adhere to standards, audit controls, and security compliance requirements.
• Design automated CI/CD deployment systems for middleware and IIS.

The Senior Middleware Administrator is responsible for supporting all aspects of the GDOL Middleware environment, including, but not limited to, builds/deployment, patching and maintenance, automation (scripting), Project Support, troubleshooting, design, and certificate management. This position works closely with Network Security, Application Development, Project Management, and Linux and Microsoft OS Server administration teams and is responsible for all facets related directly to or projects involving Middleware platform and infrastructure. The successful candidate should be highly skilled technically, with the ability to adapt quickly and provide solutions to complex scenarios.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Perform administrator duties for IBM WebSphere Application Servers V7, V8 & V8.5, creating scripts to automate manual tasks.
• 2. Build/deploy and maintain WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat and IIS environments.
• 3. Adhere to standards, processes, procedure and audit compliance controls. Maintain security audit requirements for Middleware Products.
• 4. Design and build automated code deployment systems that simplify development work and make deployments more consistent and issues predictable.
• 5. Perform patching, and ensure security compliance
• 6. Leverage open source technologies such as Jenkins, Grafana, etc.
• 7. Provide Linux support and develop/maintain Linux/Unix shell scripts. Implement and maintain Linux/Unix security.
• 8. Perform appropriate Change Management duties to comply with IT policies and procedures.
• 9. Perform appropriate Incident Management duties to comply with IT policies and procedures.
• 10. Report progress on a weekly basis of status on all assigned work tasks in a written report.
• 11. On call support and occasional weekend onsite support. Provide L2/L3 support.
• 12. Create process documentation for team and provide internal training to team members.
• 13. Document complex design items through documents and whiteboard sessions.

Required Experience/Skills:

• 1. 5+ years experience in supporting the Production environment running on Middleware Products such as IBM WebSphere Application V7, V8.5 & 9.0, IHS and IIS.
• 2. 2+ years of experience in Tomcat, Apache HTTP server and Oracle WebLogic
• 3. 3+ years of experience with installation and maintenance of software on Windows and Linux/Unix.
• 4. 2+ years of working experience with Jenkins pipelines (declarative scripts)
• 5. 3+ years experience with Windows, Linux (Centos, RHEL, SLES) and AIX.
• 6. Proficiency with shell scripts, such as bash or sh.
• 7. Experience with applying patches to middleware environments.
• 8. Experience supporting audits and providing evidence of compliance
• 9. Experience in analyzing memory leaks, thread dumps and heap dumps.
• 10. Proven ability to design automated CI/CD solutions for our middleware and IIS environment.
• 11. Knowledge of Jenkins pipelines to deliver automated deployments and testing.
• 12. Experience with creating and maintaining certificates using openssl, keytool, SSL protocols, ciphers and other security requirements.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• 1. Knowledge/experience working with Citrix Load Balancers and Edge servers.
• 2. Knowledge/experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, subversion, Maven and Ansible.
• 3. Knowledge/experience working with web services and micro services technologies.
• 4. Familiarity with IBM COTS applications like Maximo, connect direct and eClient.
• 5. Proficiency scripting languages, such as YAML, JACL, JYTHON, PowerShell and Python.
• 6. Experience with Microsofts Active Directory.
