WebSphere and System Integration Administrator/ Middleware Administrator engineer

Location

Westerville, OH (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer middleware technologies, including WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, or similar application servers.
• Monitor and maintain middleware environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application server issues, including deployment failures, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.
• Perform routine system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and security hardening for middleware platforms.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support application deployments and environment changes.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Implement best practices for middleware architecture, automation, performance optimisation, and operational processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, or similar enterprise application servers.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting within a Linux OS is essential.
• Strong proficiency in troubleshooting Linux OS, including logs, permissions, services, networking, and shell scripting.
• Have an understanding of messaging systems like MQ.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
