$90,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Knowledge Services is seeking a WebLogic Middleware Administrator for a contract-to-hire role with the State of Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS), working 100% onsite in downtown Indianapolis.

• Applicants must be able and willing to convert to a full-time State employee after 6 months without visa sponsorship.

The WebLogic Middleware Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the Middleware environment, including automation and DevOps tools.

  • Provide advanced administration for Oracle WebLogic servers and scripting automation in a Virtualized VMWare environment.
  • Install, configure, secure, and optimize enterprise web and middleware deployments on Linux.
  • Coordinate system development, security, and testing.
  • Manage and document system configurations and architecture.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain WebLogic environments.
  • Manage SSL certificates and security protocols.
  • Adhere to standards, procedures, and audit controls, maintaining security compliance.
  • Design automated deployment systems using open-source tools like Jenkins, Rundeck, SaltStack.
  • Support Linux, develop shell scripts, and integrate with Active Directory.
  • Perform change and incident management duties.
  • Report weekly on work progress.
  • Provide on-call and occasional weekend support, including Level 2/3 support.
  • Create documentation and provide internal training.
  • Explain complex designs through documents and whiteboard sessions.
  • Utilize WebLogic Application Server, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and scripting tools.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on WebLogic administration experience.
  • Experience with Middleware products like WebLogic, IIS, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache on Linux.
  • Experience with patches, security audits, memory analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins pipelines.
  • Knowledge of certificates, shell scripting, and file transfer protocols.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of Java infrastructure, security practices, and compliance.
Nice to have
  • Linux command line and architecture familiarity.
  • Database concepts and experience with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with NGINX, VMware snapshots, and performance tuning.
  • Basic shell scripting skills.
  • Systems architecture planning and incident triage skills.
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud security practices.
