Job summary

The YMCA of Orange County is seeking part-time Middle School Youth Development staff to mentor and engage students in Pomona Valley. You will guide 11-14 year olds through curriculum-aligned activities such as STEM, arts, and homework in sites including Lorbeer, Simon, and Marshall Middle Schools.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months experience with children, are 18+, and can commit to Monday–Friday 1:00pm–6:00pm, with onboarding requirements like a background check and screenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• 6 months experience with children preferred in after-school, camp, or daycare settings.
• Live Scan background check and health/document requirements prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Be a Mentor: guide children ages 11-14 through curriculum-aligned activities.
• Provide attentive service, warmth and a welcoming environment for all participants and parents.
• Drive between Pomona Valley schools as needed during the program day.
