Job summary

Abilene ISD is seeking a Teacher – Middle School to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in the core subjects district-wide. You will plan lessons, assess student learning, and support a climate that promotes growth.

Responsibilities include collaboration with staff, alignment to TEA guidelines, handling diverse learners, and maintaining records while upholding district policies and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned.
• AED certification is required for Physical Education teachers where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum.
• Provide instruction and adapt content to diverse student needs.
• Assess student learning and maintain records of progress.
• Create a productive classroom environment and manage student behavior.
• Communicate with parents and collaborate with staff.
• Participate in staff development and adhere to district policies.
