Qualifications

Teaching certificate in the State of Michigan valid to teach at the secondary level.

Essential Requirements
  • Teaching certificate in the State of Michigan valid to teach at the secondary level.
  • Display a strong understanding of the philosophy and models for providing Tier 1 & 2 academic and behavioral supports for students.
  • Highly skilled in meeting the needs of at-risk students who are up to two years behind both academically and behaviorally.
  • Willingness to partner with mental health professionals with Tier 3 services for students.
  • Participate in focused time to develop themes, along with activities, for up to 20 hours total prior to Summer School.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child growth and development and how it relates to learning.
  • Demonstrate competency in the areas of instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
  • Participate in instruction that is outside the box and provides students with new experiences.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with parents and students to actively engage them in the education process.
  • Create meaningful relationships with participating students.
  • Participate in off grounds activities as needed.
Session Dates

(1) position - June 15-June 26, Monday thru Friday 8 a.m-12 p.m.

NO SCHOOL June 29-July 3

(1) position - July 6-July 17, Monday thru Friday 8 a.m-12 p.m.

Teachers arrive by 7:45 am. In addition, 45 minutes of planning time before or after each day of instruction.

Deadline for Applying

Pay Rate

$33.00/hour until July 1, 2026 and $34.07/hour as of July 1, 2026
