Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Dedicated Aide to support a student with special needs throughout the school day, aligning instruction with the IEP and Safety-Care training. The role reports to the school leader and requires collaboration with teachers, families, and the support team.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred), strong communication skills, and a commitment to educational equity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Must be energetic, reliable, flexible and integrity-driven.
• Strong communication skills to interact with teaching teams, staff, parents and children.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in ensuring safe environments and instructional opportunities for diverse learners.
• Provide individualized behavioral and academic supports aligned with a student’s IEP goals.
• Assist in implementing behavioral and academic strategies from the student’s IEP.
• Observe students and collect data to inform planning and assessments.
• Participate in IEP reviews and MDT meetings as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
