Job summary

Magen David Yeshivah in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced General Studies Special Education Teacher with a Master's degree to provide targeted reading support in small groups of up to six students in grades 6–8.

The role includes push-in and/or pull-out instruction, curriculum modification, regular communication with parents, and collaboration with curriculum coaches to address learning gaps. The school offers competitive salaries and a 403(b) plan, plus professional development.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or NY Certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with special education students in small groups on reading decoding and comprehension.
• Experience developing hands-on approach and creative learning techniques for struggling learners
• Experience modifying curriculum and scaffolding instruction for struggling learners

Responsibilities

• Provide support in reading decoding and reading comprehension.
• Modify curriculum to address the needs and limitationsof struggling students.
• Communicate regularly with parents on student progress.
• Developalternativeassessment methods for students to show what they've learned.
• Work with curriculum coaches to address learning gaps in students' skills and knowledge.
