Hebrew Public in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a driven Middle School Special Education Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using Responsive Classroom techniques and monitor progress while collaborating with colleagues. You don’t need to speak Hebrew to apply; candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged.

Requirements include Bachelor’s degree; NY teaching certification preferred; experience in urban public charter settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• NY teaching certification or working toward certification is a plus.
• Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Responsabilités

• Provide instructional services to students with IEPs in reading, mathematics, and writing.
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the student’s IEP.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate and conference with parents providing information on student progress.
• Manage and support an organized and professional classroom that is conducive to learning.
• Prepare students for success on the NYS State Exam.
• Develop curriculum with peers to meet individual student needs.
• Attend IEP meetings and parent conferences.
