Qualifications

• Certified Rhode Island Middle School Special Educator or Elementary/Secondary with Middle School Extension.
• Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Experience in co-teaching, case management, behavior management and intervention techniques.
• Ability to be part of a multi-member educational team and demonstrate outstanding communication and organizational skills.
• Must be certified in Rhode Island as a Middle School Special Educator or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Long Term Substitute Middle School Special Education Teacher.
• Provides specialized and individualized instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with state requirements and IEPs.
• Develops and implements IEPs as required by IDEA.
• Familiarity with Common Core Standards and PBGR.
• Communicates effectively with staff and parents on a regular basis.
• Participates in development and annual review of IEPs and monitors progress.
• Maintains accurate student records for state reports.
