Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for Reading in the School District (Grades 5-6). Starting at $52,000 up to $64,000 per year depending on experience, higher education and licensure.

The role includes developing and delivering specialized instruction for middle school students with emotional support needs, establishing a positive learning environment, evaluating progress, and coordinating IEP-based services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field is required
• Emergency certification if not already obtained prior to starting employment
• Prev SPED teaching experience preferred or student teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction to middle school students with emotional support needs
• Establish a supportive learning environment
• Evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives
• Provide guidance to support staff
• Coordinate delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP
