Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking an Elementary School Special Education Teacher for Reading School District (K-2). The role starts at $52,000 up to $64,000 per year, depending on experience, higher education and licensure, and involves delivering specialized instruction to young learners with emotional support needs.

You will establish a supportive learning environment, assess progress, coordinate with IEP teams, and guide support staff within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
• Emergency certification available if not obtained prior to starting employment.
• Previous Special Education Teacher experience strongly preferred or student teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction to Elementary school students (k-2) with emotional support (ES) needs.
• Establish a supportive learning environment.
• Evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives.
• Provide guidance to support staff.
• Coordinate the delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP.
