Calvary Christian School is seeking a passionate and engaging Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, geography, and culture while fostering a love for learning in a supportive, faith-based environment.

Position Overview

The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering a dynamic and comprehensive social studies curriculum to middle school students. This includes creating meaningful learning experiences that develop students’ understanding of historical events, civic responsibility, and global perspectives.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
• Valid California Teaching Credential (Single Subject preferred, but not required depending on experience)

Experience

• Prior teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred
• Experience working with adolescent students in an educational or mentoring setting

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging social studies lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills through interactive instruction
• Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student learning
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school events
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and administration
• Integrate technology to enhance instruction and differentiate learning
• Support students’ social and emotional development
