Job summary

HTU is seeking an elementary teacher to deliver instruction aligned to the state standards in Arizona. The role requires AZ teaching certification, AEPA proficiency, and SEI/bilingual endorsement.

You will develop engaging lessons, assess student progress, and communicate with families to support diverse learners. The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, curriculum development, and ongoing professional growth, including participation in evaluation and district programs.

Qualifications

  • Arizona Department of Education state certification including elementary teaching certificate.
  • AEPA exam knowledge for elementary профессионal knowledge and early childhood endorsement (K-3).

Responsibilities

  • Instructing and demonstrating lessons in assigned areas using the Board of Education's course of study.

  • Developing lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction.
  • Transforming lesson plans into effective learning experiences to optimize instructional time.
  • Establishing and maintaining pupil behavior standards to ensure a functional learning environment.
  • Evaluating pupils' academic and social growth, maintaining records, and preparing progress reports.
  • Communicating with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program.
  • Collaborating with professional staff to assess and address pupil health, attitude, and learning challenges.
  • Creating an effective learning environment with displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
  • Maintaining professional competence through district in-service education and growth activities.
  • Participating with administrators in teacher evaluation methods per district guidelines.
  • Selecting and requisitioning books and instructional aids, maintaining inventory records.
  • Supervising pupils during out-of-classroom activities within the assigned working day.
  • Administering group-standardized tests according to district testing programs.
  • Participating in curriculum development programs and faculty committees, and sponsoring pupil activities.
  • Ensuring continuing learning for all students and utilizing Accelerated Schools methods.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Arizona Department of Education State Certification including:
    • Elementary teaching certificate.
    • Passing scores on the Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessment (AEPA) for elementary professional, subject knowledge, and early childhood professional knowledge (early childhood endorsement required for K-3).
    • Bilingual or ESL endorsement or Structured English Immersion (SEI).
    • Fingerprint card.
  • Federal Highly Qualified requirements including:
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Valid Arizona State Certification.
    • Advanced degree or National Board Certification in the core academic subject area, or at least 24 credit hours in the core academic subject area, or a minimum of 100 points on the AZ HOUSEE rubric for the core academic subject.
    • Passing the Arizona Educator’s Proficiency Assessment Subject Knowledge Test.
  • Related elementary teaching experience.
  • Alternative qualifications acceptable to the Board may be considered.
