Forte Prep is a 5th–8th grade college preparatory, tuition-free public charter school in Queens. We seek a Middle School Science Teacher to join in Fall 2026 at Elmhurst, NY.

You will plan high-quality science lessons, support student social-emotional development, and collaborate with peers. Requirements include NY teaching certification and urban teaching experience; advanced degrees preferred. Salary ranges $65,000–$95,000 with generous benefits and a commitment to equity.

Qualifications

Position: Middle School Science Teacher

Location: Elmhurst, NY

Forte Prep is a 5th through 8th grade college preparatory, tuition-free public charter school in Queens. We educate 360+ students from the Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst and Corona communities. Our students have outperformed Community School District 24, 30, Queens County, New York City and New York State on the ELA and Math State exams in each of our eight years of operation. We doubled proficiency rates in reading and nearly tripled them in math, and look forward to continuing to build from there.

• Plan and execute high-quality classroom lessons for science
• Support the emotional and behavioral development of all students

• Participate in and support meaningful data meetings and deep dives in line with department-wide, grade level-wide, and school-wide goals.

Compensation

Salary range is $65,000-$95,000 commensurate with your experience. Forte Prep employees are provided with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, 403 B matching, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, a smartphone, and a laptop.
