HCSDK8 is seeking a teacher to deliver instruction aligned with California goals and standards, focusing on science. The role emphasizes planning, delivering engaging lessons, and fostering student growth.
You will evaluate progress, adapt strategies, and maintain a positive, safe classroom while integrating technology and communicating with families.
The responsibility of the teacher is to carry out a program of instruction which enablesstudents to utilize skills taught to discover, to problem solve, to predict and be motivated to learn more. The program is based on the School Board and State of California Goals and Objectives. Under the direction of the principal, the teacher is responsible to plan and implement the educational program for their students, teach skills, and provide intellectual growth. The area of concentration is in science.
A teacher effectively uses an electronic presentation system which includes, but is not limited to, computer, interactive whiteboard, document camera, projector, and media player. A teacher utilizes a photocopy machine, fax machine, and other standard office equipment. A teacher effectively utilizes student data systems, hardware, and software utilized by the district.
The job of teaching includes standing, walking, sitting, bending, lifting 20 pounds, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, crouching, use of hands, hearing, and vision.
A teacher must effectively, precisely, and persuasively communicate both verbally and in writing. Visual, auditory, and reading comprehension must be high, and short and long term memory is necessary. Speaking effectively in person, in small groups, in large groups, and on the telephone is required.
A teacher must interact professionally and diplomatically with the public, co-workers, students, and others. A teacher must have the ability to function independently, be a decision maker and problem solver, and accept supervisory authority.
This area has temperate climate conditions, so extreme conditions are rare. Noise is at an acceptable level for classrooms. Rarely are vibrations, hazards, or pollutant atmospheric conditions noted.
The teacher needs to be able to direct others, express personal ideas/feelings, influence others, be flexible, perform a variety of duties, and have excellent responsibility and follow-through.
