Job summary

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a Reading Lab Teacher for grades 5–8 to provide targeted support beyond core ELA instruction. You will run the reading lab block, deliver whole group and small group instruction, and monitor student progress.

You will collaborate with teams, track progress, and adapt lessons to diverse learners. Strong assessment and communication with families are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Florida teaching certification or eligibility for Florida Middle Grades English 5-9.
  • Florida Reading Endorsement or coursework in progress.
  • At least one year of teaching experience with demonstrated high achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive classroom environment and collaborate with teaching teams.
  • Pull student groups, track academic progress, and ensure access to blended learning materials.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons that reflect best practices and accommodate individual differences.
  • Run a classroom of students during the specials block, covering all middle‑school grades.
  • Provide enrichment and intervention instruction to diverse learners.
  • Facilitate use of instructional technology platforms and monitor reading growth goals.
  • Assess student learning through observations and performance tasks.
  • Give frequent feedback to students, provide progress reports, and communicate with parents.
