Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a middle school teacher to deliver instruction under a structured schedule. The role requires a valid North Carolina teaching certificate and a focus on meeting diverse student needs in a 10-month program.

The teacher will develop lesson plans, monitor student progress, maintain records for IEPs/504 plans, and collaborate with administrators to uphold district policies. The position is based on site with standard school-year duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Create a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Create a classroom environment that provides for student engagement in the learning process and enables students to achieve learning objectives
• Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request
• Diagnose the learning challenges of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of central office staff as required
• Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including students with disabilities and limited English proficiencies
• Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) and staff meetings for data analysis and instructional planning
• Perform safety functions/drills to maintain a safe instructional environment.
